There are no entry requirements into CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, however, participants should have a good level of literacy and numeracy so they can read, interpret and apply safety guidelines and protocols.Students will need to successfully complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test based on the appropriate Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level.

As stipulated by SafeWork NSW, students are required to present 100 points of ID and must be at least 14 years of age.

(SafeWork NSW Evidence of Identity Requirements – Any learner in Section 2 of EOI Special Arrangement must contact our office 15 working days before booking the class).

You MUST have your ORIGINAL required IDs as per SafeWork NSW requirement to attend the class.

  • Students under the age of 18 years will be required to provide a signed parental consent form prior to attending the course.

It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies.   • site managers, supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople.
  • people who access operational construction zones (unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person).

The total course duration is 7.5 hours of face to face delivery conducted during one session.

This consists of a mandatory 6-hour nominal duration as specified by SafeWork NSW and a 45-minute break. The extra 45 minutes is to cater for contingencies including registration/Evidence Of Identity checks or extra tuition.

‘Assessment for the program will be conducted as Open Book, meaning you may access written notes or learning material, but your work must still be your own’

A SafeWork NSW Statement of Training will also be issued. The Statement of Training will allow participants to work immediately while Safe Work NSW processes their photo card application and it is valid for 60 days.
